How to customize Windows desktop and taskbar
Here’s how to customize your Windows desktop and taskbar:
- Right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select “Personalize”.
- In the Personalization window, you can change the desktop background, colors, and theme. You can also choose to use a picture slideshow as your desktop background and adjust the settings for that.
- To customize the taskbar, right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and select “Taskbar settings”.
- In the Taskbar settings window, you can choose to automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode, use smaller taskbar buttons, and select which icons appear on the taskbar.
- You can also choose which apps appear in the system tray (the area next to the clock), adjust the settings for the Start menu, and enable or disable Cortana.
- If you want to add or remove items from the desktop, such as shortcuts or gadgets, you can simply drag and drop them onto or off of the desktop.
- You can also customize the icons on the desktop by right-clicking on them and selecting “Properties”. From there, you can choose a different icon, change the name of the icon, and adjust other settings.
That’s it! You have now customized your Windows desktop and taskbar to your liking.
